Join artist and Three Rivers native Denise Fontaine-Pincince for Art with Poetry: a Visual Poetry Workshop, on Saturday, March 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration is required for this unique, hands-on activity. Using supplied recycled materials such as beads, fabric, and buttons, participants will use a poem as inspiration to create a work of assemblage art that they can take home.
This workshop is sponsored by TRACK (Three Rivers Arts Community Knowledge). TRACK is a two-year program designed to bring art of all kinds into downtown Three Rivers. Since one of the goals of TRACK is to offer more opportunities for residents to enjoy the arts, this program is being offered for $15, which includes a light lunch catered by Pinocchio’s.
The event will be held at the Interactive School House, located at 2055 Main St., Three Rivers. This space is handicapped-accessible.
TRACK is a partnership between the Palmer Historical and Cultural Center, the Palmer Redevelopment Authority, the Three Rivers Chambers of Commerce and the Quaboag Valley Community Development Corporation. TRACK is funded by an Adams Arts Grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
Fontaine-Pincince has offered similar workshops at numerous schools in the area. This event is designed for adults but teens are welcome. Once registered, participants will receive simple instructions on how to create the poem to use for the activity. This event has sold out. If you weren’t able to make it this time, please contact us to be placed on a waiting list for a possible second workshop to be held later this year.
