Altered Book Workshop for children to be held Saturday, June 25
Participants will create a one-of-a-kind art project to take home
Calling all kids! Artist and art teacher Andrea Newland will be leading an Altered Book Workshop for children on Saturday, June 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Using their own creativity through drawing, painting, writing, collage, and other visual effects, participants will transform a children’s book into a one-of-a kind piece they can take home.
The event will be held at the Interactive School House, located at 2055 Main St., Three Rivers. This space is handicapped-accessible.
This activity is designed for children ages 8 to 14. All necessary materials will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring in photos and other items they would like to include in their books. Students should bring a bagged lunch from home. The cost of the workshop is $15. Pre-registration is required. For more information, or to register, call Melissa at 413-967-3001 or email at email@example.com. Space is limited. The deadline to register is Friday, June 17.
Andrea Newland directs the Monson Summer Art Camp and has created several one-day workshops through the Monson Arts Council. She currently teaches art at Chicopee High School and paints in her barn studio.
